About Me

My philosophy is that your struggles may manifest consciously or unconscious. Our work together will help you to understand why you do things that feel so painful and/or destructive. As you learn about yourself through our work, you will have the ability understand yourself and make new choices with your life.

My passion is to work with people who are in pain in any and all aspects of their life. My journey started with a desire to help people with eating disorders. When I first began my work as a therapist over 27 years ago, I specialized in eating disorders before that concept was a household word. I have helped people develop a healthy relationship with food as well as their loved ones, but more importantly a healthy relationship with themselves. Through the years I have developed an intuitive eating approach that connects the mind and the body. Diets and restriction ultimately don’t work. Most people lose and gain weight like a seesaw going up and down. I help you to understand your body and what it needs. I also believe that movement is an important aspect to having a healthy body image. Exercise is very important to maintain health, but when you are using it as a way of losing weight or punishment it becomes unhealthy. I will help you find the joy of being in your body again.

I have been mentored by some of the best psychoanalysts/therapists in the United States, as well as having gone on my own personal journey healing myself through traditional and alternative methods and finding meaning in my life.

I work from a Relational perspective, in that we are a team working together to gain insight into who you are and what you want to be.

During the course of my career, as I have continued to work with people with eating disorders, I have expanded my practice to include families, couples, parenting, addictions, depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, sexuality and many more issues that come up in a person’s life.

I truly believe that there are many ways to find peace and your own path. Therapy is a very good place to start.
